Wedding Shoes London

You’ve probably worn an ill fitting or plain uncomfortable pair of shoes before. Most of us have. Your feet start to hurt very quickly and you end up focusing on how painful they are instead of anything else. Now just think of wearing that pair of shoes on your wedding day. Can you imagine how painful that would be?

Wedding Shoes - Comfort or Fashion

When we think of wedding clothes for the bride we always think of the wedding dress . But you need to think about the shoes as well, because they are just as important to the overall success of your outfit and how you feel on the big day.

So whatever style and design you decide to wear for your wedding day, you have to put comfort before everything else. When you are trying on various pairs of shoes make sure you do so later in the day if you can. Your feet are likely to swell slightly during the day. If you buy a pair in the morning they might feel fine, but as the day goes on they might start to feel uncomfortable.

Think about whether you are suited to wearing heels as well. While the image we all think about is one of a bride wearing heels of some degree, this doesn’t always translate into reality. If you aren’t used to wearing them you will find it hard to do so all day long. You can wear flat shoes perfectly happily at your wedding, and if you have a long dress it will virtually cover them anyway.

In fact it has been known for some brides to wear trainers at their wedding, such is their need to feel comfortable above all else! After all, what would you rather think about in years to come when you remember your wedding? Would you rather have wonderful memories of every aspect of the day, or would you rather think about how sore your feet were above everything else?

For some women the need to have fashionable shoes is extremely important. But even then you should make sure you can wear them happily without them rubbing or making your feet sore. If you do opt for a pair of shoes like this, try and break them in gently before the wedding by wearing them around the house. This should loosen them off a bit and make them more comfortable.

For many people comfort must always override the need to be fashionable. And thankfully the length of many wedding dresses does give you a certain amount of freedom. The biggest problem can be the difference in height between you and your husband to be if you don’t wear heels. Consider whether this would be an issue, and if it is make sure you break in those shoes before the big day itself.

In short you often have more freedom with your wedding shoes than you might think. But make sure you always give your own comfort some serious consideration – otherwise your first thought on your wedding day won’t be your husband!
