Half the congregation might be expecting you to wear white, but if you feel comfortable and attractive in royal blue then go for it. There are no limitations and no rules that cannot be broken.

Darker colours are more suited to winter months whereas pastel colours always work best in the summer. But if you want to have a pale wintry theme during the winter and a pale dress works best to that effect, then you have found the ideal one for you.
